Percona Toolkit needs a new packaging method for releases because Maatkit's method won't work and Aspersa wasn't packaged or released.

A new, simpler packaging script is being written: build-packages. Baron and I talked and decided to use one X.Y.Z version for the whole toolkit (instead of per-tool versions and releases using whatever svn revno). build-packages will build packages in BRANCH/release/ (that directory is ignored), resulting in release/percona-toolkit-VERSION.tar.gz, release/percona-toolkit-VERSION-1.noarch.rpm, and release/percona-toolkit-VERSION.deb.
