I have recently upgraded to Percona 5.5.20 and I am hitting this bug every 2-3 days.
My instances which hit that are slave-only instances for backup purposes. MySQL locks up, cannot be shutdown and has to be killed.

If somebody interested in pursuing this bug let me know what info you need me to collect and how to do it.
