Backup files can be encrypted using password-base encryption. This protects the privacy of your data when storing backups remotely.

Selecting a checkbox in the backup options will choose encryption. A password is required when backing up files. There is an option to store the password in the backup set (pb1 file). It will be encrypted there using your logon id, so it is not secure, but it is on your local machine not the remote backup data. When restoring the password must be available on the backup set (pb1) or must be supplied.
