Ubuntu has been shipping a patch to make Shotwell use Ubuntu Online Accounts for Picasa, Facebook and Flickr: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/shotwell/ubuntu/view/head:/debian/patches/06_uoa.patch
Please notify me (https://launchpad.net/~mardy) before starting work on this blueprint, so that we can coordinate the efforts and hopefully have a solution working for both Ubuntu and Elementary.

Shutter has a lot of photo upload plugins, elementary could take some of them like TwitPic, etc.
