Use different animations depending on notification urgency. Animation is the main way to attract attention in our case because windows and content tend to be bright and the white notification is not highly visible.
Current slide-from-top with perspective is very nice and smooth, but it's so smooth that it doesn't attract attention; urgent animation should be more attention-grabbing.
