Clinical Guideline Encoding Support

Registered by Tim Cook

An additional requirement in clinical decision support is the ability to make standard clinical guidelines computable along with the patient data gathered. Arden Syntax has long been the standard for this representation but it suffers many problems. There have been and still are other (more object oriented) approaches being used or in development listed on OpenClinical. PROforma being the most promising but it may suffer from licensing issues. The others are such as GELLO which is an ANSI standard. All options should be investigated and one should be selected for use with OSHIP.
