Stick PNGs or titles to locations in the video.
This can be done use video tracking. There are possibilities using python, e.g. using pygame/pycam/opencv http://code.google.com/p/pycam/. For a start, it might be enough to track a coloured dot, which can be affixed to
something which is moving through the video.
