Creating a project directly from sales order
I think it's rigth creating directly tasks from a sales order if task is set as a service to produce. But normally, when I register a sales order every task included on same sale order is attached to same project.
There is a lot of field that could be filled automatically from sale order.
I think there should be a field on sales order to ask to user if he wants to create a project or not with that sales order. If answer is no... nothing new. System would stay as it is now. But if answer is Yes...
I would do:
.- Automatically create a new analytic account filling all fields as is related company, pricelist... etc taking data from sales order.
.- Automatically create a new project related with the analytic account created. The project name would be the Sales order reference.
.- Automatically create a task related to the new project for each order line on sales order.
.- Automatically fill all fields that could be, taking data from sales order. If something created automatically is wrong, user would change it manually...
