Do an automatically installation on Linux that's independant of the distribution python packages

Registered by Stéphan Geulette

The installation is actually to much linked to the distribution python packages because it's more difficult to install OpenERP in a separate environment with your own python and libraries. It could be a problem to depend of distribution shared libraries that can evolve with the distribution updates: there could be version conflicts between installed products. An unified installer could be nice but a python buildout based installation (http://www.buildout.org/) would be better to easily deploy (test/production) openerp environment.
