Set Custom Tags During Batch Upload

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a feature like this:

ocsinventory-injector.pl --tag="Room number" 243

        The above would assign a custom tag on the server called Room number the variable 243. If the tag does not exist, it could fail, or maybe create it on-the-fly?

        The idea is to allow admins to write scripts that send custom tags as part of the upload process, instead of doing it by hand later.

Would it be possible to implement this feature into both the batch upload perl script (priority), as well as (perhaps) the individual agents?
