OCS-inventory as CMDB by ITIL

Registered by longbow.bel

How we can use the power of OCS-ng as a start point for an ITIL CMDB. The key is importing / exporting additional data into the OCS-ng database that it becomes a foundation in to other ITIL CMDB's. Like the DSL defenitive software library or the DHS defenitive hardware storage. There for we need to be able to add additional fields to the OCS-ng database so we can report against possibly other databases.

Whiteboard

We need to be able to interchange data between OCS-ng and for example Nagios/Centreon to get an overview about the trends on this device we have. Because nagios is the tool for monitoring availability and OCS-ng is the tool for monitoring the software level. Together they give me an insight on what i have and what i can do with this device. (is it the correct version of software and can i put more context on it without changing the hardware.

But for this to be happing I need an interface that connects nagios and OCS-ng and preferably an interactive connections.
Found by OCS-ng and instructing Nagios to monitor what is found by OCS-ng. Together they would form an awsome product.

The reason I mentioned Centreon in this case is because they use the same underlying engine (mysql) so finding a common
source is not that difficult. Just align the fields is stil a problem
