Integration of LCDproc output for notifications on VFD

Registered by Tigre-Bleu

LCDProc (http://lcdproc.org/) is a daemon controlling VFD devices. Usual VFD devices are little LCD screens integrated on some front PC cases - typically Media Center size.

This space could be valorized to display active notifications in parallel with the on screen display via a LCDd client. Here is a proposition:
 - When a new notification incomes, it is displayed both on screen and on VFD
 - VFD notification stays as long as notification remains in the notifications stack.
 - When notification is either deleted because of user action or because of timeout, VFD notification is deleted

VFD notification shall be manageable by a preference settings (at leadt activate/unactivate VFD notification). This preference settings dialog shall be accessible only if a VFD item is plugged on the system.

Whiteboard

I don't think it makes sense to integrate or "couple" notify-osd and LCDProc. Notify-osd is rendering visual notifications on the desktop, whereas LDCProc is managing a different communication channel.

From an architecture point of view, I think it would be preferable to have LCDProc listen to the same notification requests sent by applications and take independent decisions on how best to render that on the different devices you're supporting.
