Internet Radio

Registered by Daniel Fore on 2012-01-05

Our current internet radio situation leaves much to be desired with manually importing .pls files as our delivery method. We should probably outline what we're looking for as far as Internet Radio goes and then try to find an API that supports all these things and how to work them into an interface.

* Retrieve a list of available stations.
    * Name
    * Genre
    * Image
    * Location
    * Should be able to browse stations in a list format.
    * Should be able to search stations.
    * Should be able to use geo to find local stations.

* Fetch the name of the currently playing song
    * Should be able to view/buy the currently playing song in the music store

*Bonus Features
    * Pause (and buffer so we can resume where we left off)
    * Like and Dislike (Super Bonus)
    * Find a station by searching for an artist/song/album

Whiteboard

From what you've said, I take we'd need to integrate a service, since requiring pls files from third-party services won't work for like 90% of computer users out there. Definitely a Luna+1 item. -- Victor
