Using the rygel library this part should be easy. My current problem is that the rygel library is not avaliable on 12.04, and I need 12.04 for my current work.
Currently working with 14.04.
The daemon communicates with the nautilus extension via dbus providing a updated media renderers list. It also receives requests from the extension and creates a standalone server to fulfil the request.
The currently missing item is the media controller.
The standalone rygel derived server is now working in minimal functionality conditions.
Play/Stop/Search operations work fine.
The server is restarted by the daemon on each nautilus play request.
