Layer 2 Network services insertion wrapper

Registered by Edgar Magana

Provide a library to insert "In-Path" layer 2 network services such as firewalls or web optimization. There is no need for new APIs at this moment because the insertion of the services will be calling current APIs. This is an extra functionality for SPs who will be able to instantiate services as VMs in the network without any L3 configuration.

Services Model: Tenants deploy and administrate network services

In this model, Tenants will have full control over the networking services and they will be in charge of services’ administration and maintenance. Tenants will decide which services they want to deploy, where they want to deploy them and also how many instances of that service will be available.

We will provide a “Services Insertion Library Service” that wraps around any service that makes appropriate API calls on tenant owned Quantum resources to insert and stitch services.

This library will be located at:

/quantum/quantum/services/ --> New Folder
