Host Bindings of Provider Networks
Provider networks are commonly used in a Telecom context. Applications that run inside the OpenStack deployment might require a huge number of direct layer-2 access to applications residing in the existing physical network infrastructures. The current neutron implementation does not present a user-friendly method to realize a host level separation for provider networks’ creation and management. This spec proposes a “host bindings of provider networks” feature to address the issues cited above. It permits availability and physical topology to be made visible to the cloud operator for network configuration.
