Please include pad2keys patch for imon-lirc

Registered by tigerente

The imon pad remote has pressure sensitive arrow keys. In the current lirc source (and kernel), they are discarded as they might as well serve as mouse events. That is, currently, navigating mythtv is not really possible with an imon remote (you need arrow keys), even though imon can be found in many current HTPC cases (including several Silverstone, 3R Systems 1100, ...). The patch

maps them to arrow key events. There has been discussion if this approach is optimal as it discards pressure information; however, for mythtv, arrow keys are fine, and (more important) this patch actually is better than not using arrow keys at all. It was possible for me to apply the patch to the current lirc-modules-source, so I assume, it must do so as well for the kernel source.

Whiteboard

Hello,

this is not quite the correct place for your request. Please file a bug against lirc in ubuntu and the LIRC guys will take a look at it (hopefully ;)). The bug tracker is also much better at tracking requests like yours.

Thanks,

Michael
