Implement a miniplayer within the navigation bar as shown at:

It allows useful information display and non ambiguous access to the player.
Brief interaction summary is as follows...
The artwork and the text next to the artwork it act as one button (almost like a mini list item in a standard list).... you click it and go to the player to control the media or view it.

Refactoring of a nasty player part is needed to go forward: the code stuffing models' data into the OSD widget is big, not maintainable, not pluggable and most of all not reusable for the miniplayer.
