Fullscreen keyboard shortcut

RELEVANT LINKS & NOTES

Here is a list of shortcuts and command keys used on Windows and the XBMC.

It is worth noting that all XBMC projects, their forks and Windows MC stick to the 'Backspace' behaviour to 'go back'. On the Mac bothth the AppleTV & FrontRow use the 'Esc' key behaviour for this navigation.

On Ubuntu the F11 key works in many applications to go fullscreen (FireFox, Rhythmbox, Totem etc.).
On Windows, even though the guidelines specify F11, the Windows MC and Explorer use Alt+Enter.

Finally, Flash web applications and websites as well as some Javascript features use the 'Escape key' to toggle fullscreen on/off.

ACTIONS AGREED FOR ELISA

1. Backspace to 'go back'
2. Escape to toggle fullscreen on and off (*if they want to close Elisa, they can do so with the 'window buttons')
3. We will also support the following commands: 'alt+enter', 'F11' and 'F' to make Elisa go fullscreen. (*These commands will exist as 'hidden shortcuts' and we will only ever document the 'Escape' key behaviour publicly).

MOUSE IDEAS FOR ELISA

Purely as an idea: Our 'use case' or method of designing the UI considers the Remote first, then the keyboard. If we can support the Mouse or Touchscreen in the process then it is beneficial but not a requirement.

However, should the user start using a mouse, we could give them a message letting them know that Elisa is easier to use with a keyboard and they can quit Elisa by pressing 'Esc' and hitting the 'x' 'window button'
