Currently in Mixxx 1.10 the rate and phase of the track are adjusted when the sync button is pressed. Sync 2.0 aims to aggressively improve the quality of syncing by implementing:
1) A master clock feature which decks and samplers can be synchronized to
2) A sync-lock feature which allows decks and samplers to actively track the sync-target they are tied to and adjust themselves to be in sync with it
3) The ability to designate a deck as the 'master' clock.
