Whiteboard

The current best option is to implement an ALSA MIDI driver that speaks HSS1394 on the back-end, so such devices will appear as standard MIDI devices to all Linux applications automatically, and no further code work would be needed in Mixxx.

This is complete thanks to Clemens Ladisch on the alsa-devel and ffado-dev mailing lists. The new driver is available in very recent Linux kernel versions (3.8 and up.) It can be back-ported to Linux 3.2 and 3.4 as well since I've been testing on 3.2.
