Automatic update of database instead of prompting user to delete old db

It'd be nice to have some upgrade path maybe an automatic assistent that dumps the existing db and re-imports it would be easiest.
I could prolly help with that but I don't know the db nor do i know what changed :(
(I know re-scan or reloading a channels.conf is an option but on Astra 1E here (Astra 19.2) a scan takes a while and finds 950 channels where I don't want most and a big part are encrypted and don't work either.
alternatively exporting a channels.conf and then being able to re-import it would also solfe that issue..

This is not plausible because every DB change is different and will need thorough testing for upgrading from different DB versions. There is no Me TV testing team so this is not an option.
