Take Over the Desktop

Registered by Alejandro Vidal

I think this is really the only thing we could need to open apps, docs, and chat with people.

It would be very ambitious, but it could really change the way people interact with their desktops.

The idea:

Reuse Gnome-Do visuals and some core to create a gnome-panel replacement. Yes, replace it.
Mayanna, is very coll and smart to launch and mange the daily computing. I think the gnome panel will die with this.

The idea is to put two vertical panels (because even a 4:3 screen has more width than heigh, think on a 16:10...)

The first panel will contain the four icons (mayanna) and the second panel will have a taskmanager/launcher like gnome-do.

The main panel will look like gnome-do and the menus will look like gnome-do contextual menus.

look at this:

I'll add more mockups soon.

I thinks it's a smart way to integrate Maynna (with Zeitgeist) in the desktop.

Developing this in MONO, would be convenient for me, i could help developing. :D
