=== Current candidate ===
dhcpcd-qt

=== Proposals with +++ and --- ===

qconnmon (https://github.com/OSSystems/qconnman-ui)
--: Not packaged

connman + qconnman-ui + cmst (suggested on the ml)

nm qt version : http://kde.mirrors.pair.com/unstable/networkmanager-qt/ (need to me evaluate, packaged for vivid)
+ https://github.com/zballina/nm-applet-qt (but need to be ported to Qt5 / KF5NetworkManagerQt)

dhcpcd:
++: Lubuntu uses the same frontend, not much conversion there.
--: The only Qt frontend at the moment is a Qt 4 frontend, although the Qt 5 frontend is being worked on.

=== Discussion ===
[joern-schoenyan] I've updated the upstream provided packaging for QConnman and created new packaging for QConnmon-UI, I will take a look into CMST.
[gilir] Following Debian and adding cmst, let'shave some feedbacks
[tsimonq2] cmst is very broken, let's not use it
[palinek] If you don't want the connman and need a Qt based network-manager tray indicator, you may have a look on https://github.com/palinek/nm-tray
[tsimonq2] For now, we are using nm and the GNOME frontend for it. This is not a permanent solution whatsoever, but if it is agreed on, we should use the dhcpcd Qt 5 UI and the dhcpcd backend. We did it on the LXDE Lubuntu, and it's worked well so far.
[gilir] For now, let's just use dhcpcd-qt, to have the same stack on both images.
