SDDM
+ lightweight
+ qt based
- does not support nvidia-prime
- Need infrastructure change in Ubuntu (casper) and packaging (Kubuntu team are on it)
=== Discussion ===
[joern-schoenyan] SDDM will give problems for people running a recent notebook with Nvidia Optimus if they want to use nvidia-prime. More or less the same problem people ran into when updating Lucid --> Precise (GDM --> LightDM). As LightDM is fine, I say
+1 LightDM with LXQt-Greeter
[gilir] lxqt-lightdm-
[tsimonq2] LightDM and the Lubuntu greeter *works* but SDDM is what the LXQt team recommends, LightDM is also GTK while SDDM is Qt
+1 sddm with sddm-theme-
[gilir] Currently, sddm works, after some tweaking to casper configuration. Moving to sddm.
[tsimonq2] I think we can make a final decision on SDDM. We have theming for it, it's supported by upstream LXQt, and it's the best option at the moment. Closing.
