Support none pae kernels

Registered by carsten.bjoerklund@gmail.com

Being a lightweight operating system, Lubuntu should support none pae kernels. So you can download iso images that supports both pae kernels and none pae kernels.

Whiteboard

[amjjawad] I do totally agree with this but the fact that Lubuntu has nothing to do with this, is leaving us with no other choice, I am afraid. Ubuntu Kernel Team had decided to drop the support for NON-PAE CPU since 12.04 so 13.10 and 14.04 will not be any exception. However, perhaps we could start that discussion on the mailing list to see what are the possible ways to make it happen :)

[carsten-bjoerklund] I have see other distros support pae and none pae by using different kernels. Is that possible in Lubuntu?

[joern-schoenyan] Yes and no - just as an unofficial respin. This would integrate fake-pae or a repository with non-PAE-kernels.

[gilir] Maintaining a kernel is too much work for the Lubuntu team. Unless you convince Ubuntu kernel team, that's not going to happen.
