SCHED_DEADLINE: a new deadline based real-time task scheduling policy
SCHED_DEADLINE is a new deadline based real-time task scheduling policy with bandwidth isolation (aka "resource reservation") capabilities. It supports global/clustered multiprocessor scheduling through dynamic task migrations. Basic functionalities are quite stable and have passed many review iterations. Now, as mainline integration is approaching, we are impatient to show off the capabilities of this new scheduler to all potential users and get feedback on how to ease its adoption as much as possible.
