LLVM as new toolchain is used in an increasing number of projects: RenderScript, Gallium3D, Minix, FreeBSD and others. Also in the Linux ecosystem usage of LLVM and clang is on the rise.

This talk provides an overview about the current state and efforts to compile the Linux Kernel with LLVM on x86, issues remaining, and discussion on what challenges and how they can be solved.
