Sort-downloads-by

Lantash: Due to the queue nature of the download list (the element at the top of it will always be the one that is being downloaded), we cannot provide a simple sorting mechanism as in applications like P2P clients. What we could do instead is providing a function like "Download older elements first", which will reorder the download queue, so that the oldest post will be downloaded first. Is this what you had in mind? For that, we first need a mechanism that determines the age of a post. There's a blueprint covering that.

Freddy: I had in mind to download big files first or last and also maybe by date since usenet servers keep posts for a # of days.... that way we can download them first before they expire...

Lantash: I'd really love to have a function that reorders the downloads so that the oldests posts are downloaded first. It would indeed be useful for people whose news servers don't have long retention time. It would of course also be possible to reorder the downloads by size, but I don't see much use in that.

Freddy: I find some use by sorting by size, you can check/use/watch the files that download faster due to their size, instead of waiting more time due to their big size.
