Cost effective Distribution Method
Dear ones, congratulations. Here is a new concept, that will be useful for distributing UBUNTU. In various towns we can appoint individuals(can be students/ developers) or shops (internet cafes/DTP centres etc) / offices as franchisees. They will have latest version of UBUNTU and they will copy it to the customers laptop or write a cd. On Ubuntu official site, on a directory/ page, the list of franchisees are recorded. Any one can become a franchisee by registering with Ubuntu/ a sub division of ubuntu to manage franchisees (like LOCO). In the registration form it should ask name, address, contact details, contact number, is it an individual / shoppe etc. and how much do they charge for that. All these details should be shown on their profile on the franchisee page except the confidential information (password etc)
A franchisee can charge a nominal fee from the customer(
>This facility will help to spread Ubuntu by reducing the cost of ShipIt.
>It will be much faster as it is available in local townships.
>It will speed up the spreading of Ubuntu, as it provides an extra income to students / internet cafes etc.
>Also it will make (psychologically) themselves ambassadors for Ubuntu
>Ubuntu users / beginners will get a local assistant in need.
