Make a computer more user friendly through voice recognition.
There has been one feature I've always longed for is the ability to be accross the room and issue a command to your computer just by saying what you want it to do. To issue a command would involve saying the the name of the system then saying the command you want to execute. "Media Center, run VLC Media player" or "Gamer, run Hedgewars". Aside from basic commands you could also use the voice recognition to type an essay without ever having to touch a key. "Computer, run Open Office" "Computer type, Once upon a time there was a green goblin" For the typing senario you could have it wait for 5 seconds after the last word spoken to stop typing or allow the user to issue the command "typing stop". You could even have it read back text when it's highlighted by or all text on the current window. "Computer, read all highlighted text" "Computer, read text on current window". We could even go as far as having voice regcognition for the login authentication process.
This feature would enable users with poor eyesight to be able to use the computer without having to strain their eyes or people who can't move much to be able to use computers. It would also help students who need to type a long essay or report be able to do it faster (I for one would definitely benefit from that). It would also help keep spelling errors down to a minimum on chat webpages and forums. There are many uses for voice recognition.
