Mounting of external usb hard drives

I've noticed that you have fix the mounting of usb hard drivers in the past few months. Thank you I no longer turn off my machine in a haste to remove the plug. I have a suggestion, or rather a page from my history with Linux to improve this feature even further. My old OS Kubuntu 8.04 would leave the icon, and would use a little green triangle at the bottom of the icon to indicate the state of the hard drive. Triangle on = hard drive mounted, triangle off = hard drive not mounted. With this feature you would not have to unplug the hard drive to remount.
