A feature that implements tiling window management, rather than stacking

Although a window can already by "tiled" by dragging into and side or corner, A feature should be present to automatically put windows in tile, monocle, or floating mode similar to DWM. I understand that this is not a "traditional" design feature, so perhaps a setting to enable it could suffice for the time being..
