provide visual feedback when a search in software manager yields no results

when searching for something in software manager, if there is no successful result returned, it jsut displays an empty results list. the user should be provided with some visual feedback like, "sorry, no applications were found" to let them know that the search did not fail, but that it just failed to find a match.
