Laptop Function Key Usage

While using Mint in various laptops one thing that was observed was that the function key does not function completely. For example in acer laptops the brightness of the screen cannot be changed using the function key but the volume level can be adjusted. This is a hindrance to many users who like to adjust the brightness according to the color tone of various applications. As Mint is able to identify the brand of the laptops during installation proper support should be provided so that the function key can operate completely.
