panels for multiple screens both in mate and cinnamon

I have a system with three screens 2 x (1024 x 1280) + 1 x (1920 x 1200) in the middle. Both in mate and in cinnamon I only get panels in the leftmost screen. It would be very nice if I could get panels in all screens or at least had the option to choose in which screen I can get the panels. For instance that I can puit the panel on my biggest screen, because that screen has much more place for my icons.
