Native Mtp support

Registered by Michael Baker

New android devices (specifically Google Nexus Devices) are using Microsoft's MTP protocol for file/ media transfer over usb. Unfortunately this doesn't appear to be something that will be changing anytime in the near future. It would be very nice to have native support in Linux mint for current, and future android devices. Currently to use MTP devices requires the use of utilities like Gmtp which doesn't work real well. Or, custom scripts to mount and unmount the device(unreliably).

Whiteboard

Ubuntu has added gvfs to support mtp. Reference
http://www.webupd8.org/2013/01/upgrade-to-gvfs-with-mtp-support-in.html

This may be easy to integrate into Linux Mint and nemo/etc.
