re-evaluate menu shortcuts for more popular options

Could the default mint menu options (calculator and sound) be swapped for more popular shortcuts like OpenOffice.org Writer, Gimp and Movie Player. Also, the "install multimedia codecs" option that is hidden away in the Sound & Video in the menu should be somewhere more obvious as its the first thing you want after installing a new distro. Finally could there be "Places" Documents, Music Downloads etc, in the Menu. Thanks for the great distro.
