Mint education based distro or meta-packages

Once Edubuntu has dissapeared Mint would be a great option for schools. Edubuntu and other education based distros had: 1.- a classical desktop (mate or cinnamon fit perfectly here) 2.- a selection of apps for education, sometimes through meta-packages like debian-edu, kde-edu and the like. 3.- optionally an installation iso with meta-packages selection. 4.- classroom control app: there are several free debian packages. Optionally: kiosk mode (frozen user) light distribution for old computers (here LMDE would fit perfectly also) ...
