If this is approved, it should only be enabled if you have a certain amount of RAM on your system. Don't forget that linuxMint should be light.

2. Also installing prelinker does really improve the startup time of any program, not just OOo.

The only thing is that it should maybe be forced to run each time you update a program to a new version.
As a result, the startup time for my OOo Writer is now 2 seconds, down from 4.
