Drag and drop package installer

A tool or collection of scripts that enables the installation of packages through drag and drop functionality. This could be implemented through a dir-watcher that monitors an Apps directory for newly dropped .deb packages or .mint files. Dropping such files in the Apps directory would then trigger a package installer interface presenting certain package specific options. Perhaps it could use a configuration file in which power users can enable 'expert mode' so the package installer interface will then present a choice to install the package as is or download the source and recompile - allowing compile options to be set through the package installer interface.
