Rename for bulk files

This is actually a nautilus extension. But I need much time to develop a good extension for this. Thats why I put this here. When selecting more than one file, the 'Rename' option gets deactivated. But in most cases, its useful, if the selected files are renamed continuously on a numbering scheme or something. For example, I've three files 'x.jpg' , 'y.jpg' and 'z.png'. And when I select all of them and rename to 'me', then the result should be 'me-1.jpg' , 'me-2.jpg' and 'me-2.png' or regardless the extension, 'me-1.jpg' 'me-2.jpg' and 'me-3.png'. I have done this feature as a nautilus extension. Please take a look at the URL attached with this specification.
