to be added to mint-meta-main (or wherever the devs deem appropriate)
add a symbolic link under '/usr/share/
from (mint-distro)
to (ubuntu-
where (mint-distro) is the name of the installed linuxmint distro
and (ubuntu-distro) is the name of the corresponding ubuntu distro
p.s. this fixes the issue with apt:// urls containing `channel=
