Automated functional regression test suite for graphics

Registered by Jesse Barker

While we have "validation" modes (an end-of-scene pixel readback that allows for self-checking of nominal correctness) for test suites like glmark2 and glcompbench, those test suites are not functional tests. We need a more functional test suite for LEB validation that allows us to add bug test cases (especially cases distilled from complex interactive situations like Unity UX issues).

Whiteboard

[jesse-barker 2012-04-24] Possibilities include leveraging the canvas framework from glmark2 to readily support XWindows, Android, and the various window system interfaces (EGL, GLX, direct-to-DRM) that come with them to leveraging an existing project like piglit. We will discuss pros and cons of each approach and decide how to proceed.
