Text property editor allows precise edits without limits

Registered by Stephen

To the extent that KiCad (like all programs) is not perfect, occasionally it can be convenient to edit the text files directly.

It would be useful to have a "property editor": This might show the text file at right, and highlight each logical block.

Every field belonging to a block would have a label and a value.

This allows every field to have an exact entry, and ensures that "everything is possible".

Whilst you might say "Kicad is that program, it is all you need", that is not so: Text editing is a different way of working, and occasionally can be very useful, and might well eventually lead to new useful program feature requests.

---
Example: Perhaps one wishes to directly edit zones to lie just-within a complex shape; for example a ground plane lying 0.5 mm inside a complex, curved board outline. (I do not want the router to cut the copper, I want the ground plane outline to be etched, not routed). This is essentially impossible in the editor. I generate the shape externally and paste the details into the text file.
