Donation Button in About Dialog
KiCad is nice and becoming even better and more powerful every year... but Coding and developing requires time and effort.
KiCad may be free but their developers time is NOT. And their machines consume electrical power and their electric supply companies charge them, and they need funds for hardware upgrades and testing the software under different platforms...
So...
May I suggest Placing a big, visible "DONATE" button in the About Dialog of each application and also in every place around in the website... Or even a CONTRIBUTE Menu item. The contribute may include not only "Monetary" help but also graphics, ideas, "spreading the word" about KiCad suite, etc
Of course: It is not as simple as a Widget with caption "DONATE": An underlying organizative structure for the funds and its management is needed if not already existing... But this already exist for many (Most?) big Open-Source projects... And this one deserves the best
Hope these ideas are welcome and implemented
