Bridges (strap in french) layer
Adding this extra layer of circuit can solve many routing headache, and avoid going double sided or quad sided !
Problem is while in eechema, we don't know that a bridge on that particular net will save our life !
Simple solution is adding a layer on top of front side. With limited ERC, of course. Access with classic 'V' vias. Because straps are often wires cutted from component, the default Via hole is another class of via pad.
This layer is of course not included in following gerber manufacturing process.
Some automatic options can be :
allow only vertical horizontal straps.
build on the fly the footprint for the two holes
annotate
Each hole can be moved of course, reshaping the footprint.
Autoexpand : while routing a normal track, this component (the strap) can be enlarged to make room. The footprint of the strap is not burried in marble.
In one word, this new layer accepts one special component made of two holes, component created on the fly with flexible footprint.
