Faster learning curve with improved dropdown menus and toolbar icons
Each button in the toolbars should also be available in the dropdown menu.
This is a standard windows GUI convention.
This is useful to assure the user only has to check right mouse button menu + top-dropdown menus to see if/how something can be done. Now also the toolbar buttons and their yellow flags need to be checked.
Especially enabling buttons like the library / footprint editors earn a spot in the dropdown menus.
Second point is: on modern displays the toolbar icons are quite small. It would increase the productivity greatly to have buttons that are 1.5 or 2x the current size.

Whiteboard
I tottally agree that making options available in menus will make them more visible. Kicad has multiple functions, but sometimes it takes too much time to discover them.
Also i think some functions which are context at the moment (for example zone refilling available only when editing zones) will benefit from being available form standard menus.
