support checkpoint scheduled clean
Smaug provides Operation Engine Service to support the scheduled operation for a protection plan.One scheduled operation will create lots of checkpoints as the trigger define the rules.e.g.one checkpoint every day, one checkpoint every week,one checkpoint every month.So the end users need more and more storage capacity, and some checkpoints are not useful and necessary for the end users.
Smaug could support checkpoint scheduled clean feature to satisfy the end-user's requirement.Smaug could provide the end users some settings like "max backups" and "retention duration" for the checkpoints which are created by the Scheduled protection,
and then Smaug could clean the deprecated checkpoints as the end users define.
