Whiteboard

I don't think this is a good idea because it can't be implemented consistently and encourages confusion. Does it provide any benefit to the user if the application shortcut (.desktop file) does not match the random name the user comes up with? What about documentation?

Does any other application allow you to make up your own name for it?

Good arguments, it is an absurd feature when you think about it.
Basically I wanted users to be able to "turn off" the app title in their window lists.
I did this, but then thought of extending it further...
I kinda like it, because it is so unique...
Not sure if we should axe it.
Perhaps changing it to "Window Title" instead of "Application Name"
Or even just the on/off.
